We here at DanceWear Corner wanted to shine a special spotlight on this Photographer and learn a little more about her and her craft.
What are three things that you have to keep with you at all times?
My insulated water cup…hydration! My phone because in addition to business, I’m a Mom and need to be reachable. And some sort of protein bar because I never know when I’ll work over the scheduled time or get pulled in another direction and not get to eat otherwise.
Which do you like more taking the pictures or editing them? Why?
I’d have to say I like taking photos more. My style is semi-journalistic, so I don’t edit abundantly.
What is your favorite part about being a photographer? Why?
I love that I get to stop time. Whether it’s catching the perfect grande jete or catching that funny, all-teeth smile a toddler gives, I am able to preserve that moment forever.
How did you get interested in photography?
My mother-in-law bought a Canon DSLR around the time my daughter was born. I fell in love with how sharp the images were, and when my daughter was a little over a year old, I purchased my first (used) Sony DSLR. I started photographing her for fun, and it wasn’t long before I had friends and coworkers asking me to photograph their families and children.
Of all the states that you have photo shoots in, which is your favorite? Why?
West Virginia because it’s home.
6.) When you are not behind the camera or editing what are you doing?
My family and I love to be outdoors. We love to hike, so we love to visit state parks and their trails.
